January 23, 2009

Author and veteran punk drummer Joel Gausten (PIGFACE, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, THE UNDEAD) has published his latest offering, "Words From The Third Side: Essays on Sex, Satan & Success". An autobiographical tale, "Words" chronicles Gausten's experiences as a longtime member of the Church of Satan as well as his memorable run-ins with members of MINISTRY, NINE INCH NAILS, BLACK SABBATH, THE GERMS, CHRISTIAN DEATH, MISFITS and many others. From partying at the Playboy mansion and dining with infamous gamblers to dodging gang warfare in Los Angeles and exploring the darkest elements of human sexuality, Gausten invites the reader into his private world and reveals some of the many surreal and memorable experiences that have defined his Satanic life.

Joel Gausten has been a proud member of the Church of Satan since 2002. In April 2007, he was elevated to Warlock status in the organization. Over the years, Gausten has earned acclaim as a drummer, award-winning journalist, concert promoter and publisher. His books include "Tales of Horror: The History of The Misfits & The Undead", "Prong: The Early Years", "Pandemonium: Inside Killing Joke" and "The Sabbath Interviews". His live and/or studio musical work includes stints with PIGFACE, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, KUNG FU KILLERS and THE UNDEAD. He got his start in the music business as a promoter for the MISFITS.
